Donkey Kong Lore Theory That’s a good theory. Personally I just refuse to believe that Cranky Kong is the Arcade Donkey Kong and that the Donkey Kong we know and love now is the exact same one that first appeared in 1981. I also like to just believe that Donkey Kong Junior is just Donkey Kong’s rarely seen son. After all he was in Mario Tennis. In the end it’s really the players choice on what they want to believe.
