All Hail Plankton! But now that you mentioned it the original film is pretty dark themed. Such as the Mr. Whiskers scene, King Neptune wanting to fry a frozen Mr. Krabs, Plankton hiring an assassin to KILL SpongeBob and Patrick (as opposed to just stopping them from foiling his plans) Shell City being a gift shop with dead sea creatures for sale and SpongeBob and Patrick dying temporarily in the movie. It’s a whole lot darker than I remember now that you’ve mentioned it.
