Guess that means we’ll most likely get a stupid horror film based on the original Popeye shorts. Is there anyway possible to avoid the Public Domain entirely? Other than making new stuff based on the old characters that will stay copyright protection over time.

I’ve seen this movie and I have seen some footage of the original version of the film on YouTube. He’s even shown falling off of Diesel 10 in the film’s Theatrical Trailer. Also Thomas originally had a much more mature sounding voice which can also be heard in some of the early trailers. Are there any bootleg DVDs of this original version of the film?
