What’s the Most Controversial Thing You Own?

Posted by SolidSnakeOnAPlane - May 4th, 2022

What’s the most controversial thing you own? I can name at least three for me.

  1. THE MOST controversial thing I own is probably a bootleg VHS of Song of the South (1946). It was never officially released on home media in the U.S. but it was released overseas. It’s kind of a bit unfair if you ask me. The one I have is even labeled as Disney’s Banned Video. I’m not racist in any way but I think any fan of classic 2D animated Disney films should have a copy of Song of the South (1946) in their collection.
  2. An official MGM DVD release of Clownhouse (1989). It was pulled from shelves a week after it was released due to the controversy that took place behind the scenes with the director and the lead actor.
  3. The rarest PS2 game Rule of Rose. Only 15,000 copies were released and the game itself was banned in some countries.

I used to own The Tao of Jeet Kune Do by Bruce Lee. The only controversial thing he did was buy a shit load of Narcotics. Currently the closest thing to controversial I have is the complete works of H.P. Lovecraft, due to his racism. As well as one of the original copies of Stephen King's It. The one that depicted the Loser's Club having a mass orgy after fighting Pennywise the first time.

I have a first print novel of Stephen King’s IT as well.
